Shabbat Time Change

Beginning on August 18, shabbat services to begin at 7:30 pm

As our trial to hold Friday night Shabbat services at 7 pm (an hour earlier than was customary for decades) comes to an end, the board of directors adopted the suggestion by the ritual committee to start a new trial. For six months beginning with Shabbat services on Friday, August 18, 2023, services will begin at 7:30 pm.

We heard equally passionate arguments in favor of and against the 7 pm start time from many congregants and are hopeful that 7:30 pm presents a workable compromise for both camps.
